Khaligraph Jones: My woman knows every truth about me. I open up to her more than anyone else

Rapper Khaligraph Jones has said that he’s not concerned by people who judge him from his music videos. Jones, who is about to become a father, shared that the most important thing is that his woman know him and his story. “I don’t care what people say out there. People judge even when they don’t know me personally. If you judge me from what you see in my videos, then you know nothing about me. That is your problem. My woman knows me,” he said. Focused Jones said that his woman is the only person who knows everything about her and that always keeps him on check. Nothing else matter. “She knows what I am capable of. She knows every truth about me because I have opened up to her more than I have opened up to anyone else,” Khaligraph told the Pulser.  “Anything else becomes side-lines and total nonsense. One thing I should say is that when you find someone you really love, she gives you real discipline and gives life a different meaning. I go home to her. I am working hard day and night because of my family.”

Queen Darleen is back with a new banger ‘Tawire’.The Wasafi Record member has hit the airwaves after her last release ‘Touch’ last year. She came to the limelight due to her song Kijuso where she featured Rayvanny. In her new song, she talks about people got heavy hearts. It is a jam that one can easily relate with what happens in real life. In short she says that they rely only on witches. Production This is a Wasafi production and we all know how they do their stuff. Queen Darleen in her new single, the  voice is so clear and there is enough energy. She does not disappoint. In addition, the audio is so clear and the beats are in sync. Lyrical Presentation of Tawire The song  has great lyrics. The message in Tawire is very strong and am sure you will want to keep on replying it. There is this verse where she tells what people do for one not to succeed; Wanapiga manyanga (eh) Usijenge ubaki kupanga Wanachanganya waganga (eh) Wa Pemba, Tanga, Sumba, Wanga Makili kili na ma fili fili Tunayakemea yapotee, Amina! Madili dili mwana mbili mbili Na mitonyo yote ilegee, Amina! She goes on to talk about how they sort help from witches from Pemba, Tanga, Sumba, Wanga. Are this not the famous witch doctors? She just said it better in this verse. Further in to the song, Queen Darleen talks of how the enemies are struggling to bring you down and urges people to be close to their God. Wamekalia vigoda Wanataka kukuroga Wachawi dumba watangoja Weka Mungu kwako awe namba moja. There enough juice in one song. People need to hear this. In addition, repetition has been used to emphasize on the title of the song. Looking at the chorus the style is...

Kristoff, Boondocks Gang and Randkaddah have finally dropped ‘Rieng Remix’ and it’s too lit (Video)

Rieng by Boondocks Gang was such a dope jam but have you heard the remix? The remix, which features Kristoff and Rankaddah was released yesterday and it’s way better than the original. Just like most of you, I was really waiting for Rieng (Remix) to drop so much that I was among the first people to watch it when it premiered on YouTube on Wednesday at 3 pm. You see, I’m such a huge fan of Boondocks Gang or Genge La Bundoksi if you like. I’ve been listening to since I discovered their music in January this year. Also read: ‘Rieng’ hitmakers Boondocks Gang have dropped another fire jam and we love it (Video) I keep tabs on them and it obvious why. The members of the group i.e. Kid Furnace (Odi Wa Murang’a), Ex Ray, and Edu Maddox are very talented. If you choose to ignore the raunchiness of the words that they use in their songs and focus on the rhymes and flow, you’ll also agree that these youngins are gifted. Perhaps this explains my excitement when they dropped Rieng (Remix) yesterday. Admittedly, I didn’t really feel the song when I first heard it but after listening to it a few of more times, I realized that it’s a masterpiece. Simply put, it grew on me with time. Kid Furnace (Odi Wa Murang’a), Rankaddah, Ex Ray, Edu Maddox and Kristoff all did a superb job on this song. However, I was most impressed by Kristoff and Kid Furnace (Odi Wa Murang’a). There’s a part where Kristoff says, “Uhoro wakwo, mwendwa wakwo, inanifanya nisikie kushika matakwo, hizo zakwo, siwezi kuvakwo, ziko na rieng kushinda hata za mamakwo.” I don’t know even what it means, I just loved the flow. Trey Juelz did a great job on the video. I...

Are Kenyan gospel musicians asleep?

I honestly feel like Kenyan gospel musicians are deep in slumber. I’m saying this because I feel that the gospel industry is not as vibrant as it was a few years ago. I feel like it has stagnated. If you are an avid fan of Kenyan music then I’m sure you remember how the gospel industry was big five to ten years ago. Can you? The gospel industry was so enormous so much so that secular artists were almost unheard of, no one even cared about them or what they were up. The biggest song in the country at any given time was from the likes of DK Kwenye Beat, Juliani, Willy Paul, M.O.G, Benachi, Daddy Owen, Bahati, Gloria Muliro, Eunice Njeri, Mercy Masika etc. I don’t know what happened but somewhere along the way, the secular industry overtook took over. We can debate about this until the come home but deep down you also know that this is a fact. The gospel music is not what it was five to ten years and this begs begs the question, are Kenyan gospel musicians asleep, did they get too comfortable or are they just lazy? I know it’s not a competition between the two sides. After all, they are all Kenyan. As a Christian, it just gives me comfort when the gospel industry is at the top. Don’t get me wrong, I listen to a lot of secular music. Yup! From Sauti Sol to Ethic, anything goes. I have nothing against secular musicians. It’s just I really miss that days when gospel music was the order of the day. Those days when gospel gigs had the biggest crowds. The days when gospel musicians were really praising God with music. This is a clarion call to all Kenyan gospel musicians. Enough said!

Has Ethic been dethroned?

Tomorrow marks a year since Ethic, a group whose members are Rekles, Swat, Zilla and Seska, debuted on the local entertainment scene with Lamba Lolo. They introduced Kenyans carefree music and we loved them never mind the fact that their song was a bit vulgar. Wasn’t it? Soon enough, Ethic released other songs; Position, Saba, Instagram, Pandana and before we knew it, they were household names. Yup, they became stars in one year! Perhaps the icing on the cake for them was participating in Coke Studio 2018. Anyone musician will tell you for free that that’s an opportunity that they are ready to die for. Ethic has empowered many young musicians in the last one year. They have shown them that making a hit song does not take much, that you don’t have to splurge. They also gave them courage to sing about anything that comes to their minds, which is mostly raunchy stuff, but that’s a story for another day. In the last one year we’ve seen the emergence of new age musicians and groups and in my opinion they should all thank Ethic for leading the way for them. The like of Ochunglo Family, Boondocks Gang, G-Rock, Gwaash etc. would be nowhere today were it not for Ethic. Deep down you also know that this is true. Interestingly, though, I feel that some of the new-age musicians learned the ropes too fast and have since dethroned Ethic as Kenya’s best new-age musicians. What do you think? Side note: A little bird told me that Ethic and Ochunglo Family have already done the remix for Pandana and it will be released anytime now. Get your eardrums ready!

Rebrand Tricky, who is planning to re-brand soon, added that he’s planning to change his direction with Ayeiya in mind. “When I joined comedy, I did not intend to hustle with it but with time it has grown to a point where it is not mine alone, but also for my fans,” Tricky said. “It’s Me Me’ is an event to unveil what next for me as a comedian because I want to start balancing my stand-up comedy with my online content.”

But that was not the case,” Kansiime told Radio Jambo. Babies over fame In the interview, the comedian added that many people wanted her to become a mother but she wasn’t really ready. Kansiime said people accused her of sacrificing her chance at motherhood for fame. “Some people were trying to figure out why I did not have kids with my ex-husband Gerald Ojok. It was the worst troll that I have ever dealt with,” she said. “So they said that I had sold my uterus for fame. The sad thing is even if it’s not true there is no way you can be able to show people that your uterus is still intact.”

Comedian Dr Ofweneke has had a tough past. In a recent interview, he revealed that his parents separated just a week after he was born in 1991. “I do not know what happened between my parents but my mother left when I was a week old,” he says. “And they were very young. My dad was 23. They were living in Mathare, Kwa Chief. My dad took me to my grandmother’s place in Mbotela. We moved to Huruma, Dandora – all these ghettos.” The comedian went on to say that after this ugly split, she decided to look for his mother while in high school. After talking to a few relatives, they finally told him that his mum works at Industrial Area. “I am not very emotional, but when she saw me, she hugged me while crying for 30 minutes,” he says. Regrets His biggest regret is failing to forgive her when she asked him to on her death bed at Kenyatta National Hospital, after losing her battle with HIV-related illnesses. “I still have that image of her in my mind, lying on that bed, struggling to get that statement out to ask for forgiveness. I was still mad. I did not know that she was literally in the last stages of her life. I just told her I would see her tomorrow. I did not know ‘tomorrow’ would be in heaven.’ She died about four hours after I left,” he added. .
